NAHB—www.nahb.com The National Association of Home Builders is a federation of more than 800 state and local builders associations throughout the United States. NAHB analyzes policy issues, monitors and works toward improving the housing finance system, and forecasts economic trends. The association also represents the industry’s interests on Capitol Hill by striving to ensure that housing remains a national priority when laws are made and policies are established. It also works with federal agencies on regulations affecting the housing industry in areas such as mortgage finance, codes, energy and the environment.
NCSHA—www.ncsha.org The National Council of State Housing Agencies is a national, nonprofit organization created by the nation’s state housing finance agencies. NCSHA represents its members in Washington before Congress, the Administration, and federal agencies concerned with housing, such as HUD and the Treasury, and with other advocates for affordable housing.
NH&RA—www.housingonline.com Established in 1971, the National Housing and Rehabilitation Association is a national membership organization that promotes partnerships among sophisticated professionals in the affordable multifamily housing field. NH&RA’s members include multifamily developers, lenders, investment bankers, nonprofit organizations, attorneys, property managers, accountants, financial advisors, syndicators, and state and local agencies.
NMHC—www.nmhc.org The National Multi Housing Council is a national association representing the interests of the nation’s larger and most prominent apartment firms. NMHC advocates on behalf of rental housing, conducts apartment-related research, encourages the exchange of strategic business information, and promotes the desirability of apartment living.
